Spooky Nook is throwing its fourth annual Father’s Day 5K, and it’s something you’ll want to attend. A 5K is a perfect race for anyone to spend time with their family, friends and community! Here are five reasons you should join the fun Father’s Day 5K at Spooky Nook.

  1. Spend quality time with family and friends

The main goal of the Father’s day 5K is to bring people together with all types of capabilities. The race gives participants the opportunity to make life-long memories with friends, family and their community. This event is great for beginners or experienced runners alike.

  1. Race will be held on the scenic Lancaster Junction Trail

The Lancaster Junction Trail is an ideal location for the Father’s Day 5K. The beautiful trail is filled with wildflowers, trees, and water features. The lowland path is covered by trees, which provide shade for participants. The trail is heavily used by the community because of its cleanliness and beauty.

  1. Awards will be given out to participants from each age group

Who doesn’t love a little competition? The Father’s Day 5K will be awarding the top male and female champions from each age bracket. The age brackets are : 14 and under, 15-19 years, 20-24 years, 25-29 years, 30-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70+ years.

Anyone has the opportunity to win, so get out there and compete!

  1. Proceeds of the 5K will benefit Schreiber Pediatric

By participating in the Father’s Day 5K, you will be helping children at Schreiber Pediatric. This center for pediatric development serves more than 4,000 children every year. Schreiber offers its patients child care services, recreational programs, early education, and specialized classes for parents. Proceeds will be donated to Schreiber Pediatrics to make a difference in a child’s life.

  1. Enjoy a nice post run meal at Forklift & Palate Restaurant

The Forklift & Palate Restaurant is the official restaurant of the Spooky Nook Sports complex.  It is a short walk or drive from the Lancaster Junction Trail. This restaurant offers original dishes created from fresh Lancaster County farm-based ingredients. Forklift & Palate is a perfect eatery for family and friends to enjoy after finishing the Father’s Day 5k.
