Clinics

The Nook Champion Mill offers private and group lessons. Our group lessons allow players to work on a single skill or series of skills with others in a setting closely resembling elite-level practice. Private lessons are available for those seeking 1-on-1 instruction for a specific skill.

Derrik was born and raised in Rhode Island where he has played competitively for 6 years, including 4 years in high school and 2 years at the collegiate level, one of which was a memorable 2nd place finish in the NECVL. His coaching journey began at the high school level, where he coached both boys and girls 3 seasons each - notably, assisting his 2016 girls’ varsity team to the D2 State Championships. Now relocated to Cincinnati, he started coaching again in 2023-2024 for club, where his team placed 2nd and were 16U National Runner-ups. His coaching philosophy centers around effort and mindset, instilling in players the importance of both physical and mental preparation. Derrik is a competitor, and he emphasizes personal development within his coaching. He aspires to bring out the best in players both on and off the court.

Lori serves as the Head Coach for Edgewood High School, and Cincy Storm VBC where she strives to develop athletes both on and off the court. Her coaching journey began in 1996 with Western Buckeye, and since then, she has coached at numerous clubs such as Dayton Juniors, Xplosion VBC, and Cincinnati Volleyball Academy. In addition to her club coaching experience, Lori has held coaching positions at Twin Valley South High School and Preble Shawnee High School. As a co-founder of the Edgewood Youth Volleyball program, she has dedicated countless hours to clinics and personalized lessons to inspire and train the next generation of players. With experience coaching athletes from 10u up to 18u Lori has a wide range of knowledge to knowledge to train at all levels

Throughout the year, Spooky Nook Sports Champion Mill offers a diverse selection of youth volleyball leagues specifically designed for both boys and girls, catering to different age groups and skill levels. These leagues provide young athletes with an excellent opportunity to not only enhance their volleyball skills through structured training sessions and competitive matches, but also to develop important life skills such as communication, leadership, and cooperation.

Spooky Nook Sports Champion Mill welcomes competitive athletes of various ages from across the region to participate in our volleyball tournaments. Our tournaments are day- or weekend-long events, and we often work with the leading volleyball organizations across the country to provide a competitive event. The sports facility at Spooky Nook Champion Mill is available to rent throughout the year. We accept bookings based on availability and on a first-come, first-served basis. In most cases, guests must reserve their space with at least 72 hours of advance notice. For bookings within 72 hours, call our guest services desk directly.
