Bringing families together through sports, entertainment, and events, Spooky Nook Sports offers exciting opportunities to all levels and ages of athletes. Located within the revitalized Champion Paper Mill complex, our campus carries forward a legacy of hard work and teamwork that once powered the local economy.

With over 180,000 square feet of courts, we feature a range of sports like basketball, volleyball, soccer, football, futsal, field hockey, and more. Featuring 14 maple hardwood courts, 14 multi-sport courts, and an outdoor turf field, the opportunities for sports are endless. What was once a bustling paper mill has been thoughtfully transformed into a vibrant hub of athletic competition and community connection.

Spooky Nook Sports is more than just sports. With the area's second-largest conference event center, a 233-room hotel, multiple food and beverage options, and specialty retail, we offer an experience like no other. Guests can enjoy modern comfort and amenities while surrounded by preserved elements of Champion Paper Mill’s historic architecture, creating a distinctive backdrop for every visit.

Sixteen meeting spaces come together to make Champion Mill Conference Center, featuring stunning historical architecture and large spaces to gather with anywhere from 10 to 10,000 guests. Once home to the industrious Champion Paper Mill, these walls now host ideas, celebrations, and connections instead of machinery, honoring a legacy of productivity in a new way. Sitting alongside the Warehouse Hotel at Champion Mill, this is the ultimate destination for corporate events, business meetings, weddings, galas, and so much more, blending modern amenities with the character and craftsmanship of the original mill.

A Grand (Re)Opening

On May 19, 2022, Champion Mill opened with a moment worthy of its history: a sold-out “Play Ball” gala hosted by the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. The night overflowed with exceptional food, live entertainment, and interactive displays that brought our story and vision to life.

By February 2023, that excitement carried into our first large-scale tournament. Fifteen thousand volleyball players and their families packed The Nook, kicking off a new era of sports and community events.

In just a few short years, millions of guests have visited our campus. From elegant galas to national tournaments, early-morning workouts to summer camps, overnight stays and delicious bites, Champion Mill has become a place where experiences happen every day. Looking ahead, we’re filled with optimism for what the next chapter will bring. The energy and enthusiasm from those who walk through our door continues to remind us that this is only the beginning. The future of Champion Mill is bright, and we’re just getting started.
