This is the third year The Nook has participated in the Isaiah Owens Toys for Tots Campaign. Isaiah, a local student, is 14 years old and is very active in community organizations like Toys for Tots and The Ronald McDonald House. Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
Isaiah’s goal was to collect 3,500 donated toys this year. As of December 15th, he has collected over 7,500 toys. The Nook helped to collect 59 toys!
Isaiah was recognized this year by the U.S. Marines for his 10 years of service! In 10 years, he has collected 30,000 toys and $11,000 in monetary donations for Toys for Tots!
