Nook Softball Academy tryouts are held annually in late July and early August. We hold evaluations at this time due to the number of Spooky Nook teams participating in national events, which historically finish during the first week of August. All tryouts will be held at Spooky Nook Sports unless otherwise noted below. Tryouts will include evaluations on skill, hustle, teamwork, and attitude. Fielding, throwing, baserunning, hitting, pitching, and catching will be evaluated by the coaching staff.
All current Spooky Nook Softball Academy athletes are required to tryout again each year. All Nook academy hopefuls are required to attend one of the tryout dates to be considered for a team. If you are unable to make either of the tryout dates, please contact us and we will schedule an individual or small group tryout as needed. Team placement is made based on the discretion of the coaching staff in each age group. There is a $15 tryout fee per player and each player will receive a Nook Nation Softball t-shirt at tryouts if registered by one week before the tryout.
