Nook Gymnastics

Spooky Nook Sports is excited to announce the launch of Spooky Nook Gymnastics! Nook Gymnastics is a rewarding year-round program with the goal of teaching discipline, strength, flexibility, and a strong work ethic to athletes of all ages.  The program will also aim to prepare athletes for a bright future in not only gymnastics, but in any sport.

Lisa Gregg has been appointed the Nook Gymnastics Director and has over 22 years of gymnastics experience. Gregg started her gymnastics career locally when she was six years old at Lancaster County Gymnastics Academy (LCGA) in East Petersburg. Gregg’s knowledge as a gymnast and coach is extensive and she has a wide resume including both recreational and competitive gymnastic experience. The competitive teams she coached reached numerous 1st place titles both individually and as teams. She also previously coached with former Olympic Level Coach, Jennifer Bundy-Bortz, who was recently named Master of Sport by USA Gymnastics in 2014.

Nook Gymnastics will include a variety of programming such as lessons and open gyms, as well as an academy. Lessons will be offered once a week and will teach athletes the basics of gymnastics, advance their skills, and help develop strength and flexibility. Lessons begin on June 13 and are available for all athletes as young as three up to adult.

Open gyms will be available starting June 15 offering free play in a non-structured, supervised, safe, and fun environment. Preschool open gyms are for boys and girls ages 1-6. Parents for this age range are required to remain in the gym as long as their children are playing. Regular open gyms are scheduled twice a week and are for boys and girls ages 5-14. Children under the age of 5 may attend if accompanied by an adult.

The Nook Gymnastics Academy will run similarly to all of the other sport academies Spooky Nook offers. The fall 2016-2017 season will run from September 6, 2016 to May 2017.

Gregg is excited about starting this new endeavor at Spooky Nook. “I look forward to providing my gymnastics expertise to Spooky Nook Sports and can’t wait to inspire young gymnasts to build great self-esteem, self-confidence, and love the sport that has given me, and so many, a bright future,” stated Gregg.
