Recently I have had many parents and players reach out to me asking if there are any AAU programs that I would recommend to them. Without hesitation, the first program that pops up into my mind is the basketball academy at Spooky Nook. Playing in the basketball academy gives the athlete a unique experience that other programs in the central PA area are not able to offer. First and foremost, the opportunity to practice and play at The Nook speaks for itself. Having been a part of other AAU programs in the area, I can say with confidence that having weekly access to a gym and scheduled practice times is an advantage The Nook has that other programs cannot offer. One summer I was involved with a college showcase team that was only able to have 2 practices the whole summer due to lack of gym space. Here at The Nook, you will get to practice two times a week.
In addition to the amazing facility, another advantage of the basketball academy is the leadership of Mark Seidenberg. Mark is currently coaching college basketball, making the basketball academy the only program around that is led by a college basketball coach. Having a college basketball coach lead the academy is vital for many reasons. First, it means that the coaches of each team will be mentored and educated by someone who is coaching at the highest level. Second, if anyone has an idea for what a college coach values and looks for in a prospect, it would be Mark. If your aim is to get recruited and play basketball at the college level, you need to be a part of the basketball academy.
As if the great facility and fantastic leadership are not enough, there are many other benefits to playing basketball at The Nook. All athletes will receive sports performance training in addition to weekly practices, all athletes will be trained by a professional trainer, and parent travel will be limited since many of the largest tournaments on the east coast being held right here.
The Spooky Nook Basketball Academy is going to be something very special. I highly recommend that you consider getting your athlete involved in the program this spring and summer!
